Anoma is the product of decades of cutting-edge research and development in the fields of cryptography, programming language theory and blockchain technology. Learn more about the vision and motivations that led to Anoma’s creation, as well as the team and backers behind Anoma who are working to make this vision a reality.
Built against a backdrop of increasing governmental and corporate surveillance, unipolar control of the global financial backplane, and humanity’s inability to solve large-scale coordination problems, Anoma helps communities worldwide take back control of their own economic sovereignty. Anoma is part of a growing global effort to impede non-consensual usage of data by third parties, prevent nation states from weaponizing the financial system to pursue their own political agendas, and empower humankind to solve existentially-threatening collective action problems that transcend national borders.Vision Paper
Located all over the world, the team building Anoma has decades of combined experience working in and around topics relating to blockchain technology, cryptography and programming language theory across professional and academic contexts. Team members have previously worked on high-profile projects at Cosmos & Tendermint, Polkadot, Tezos and Chainalysis, and include the founders of Cryptium Labs, a proof-of-stake validator, and Heliax, a blockchain R&D company.
The Anoma Foundation works to build and expand Anoma, as well as ensuring the continued communication between stakeholders and the coordination of the project’s financial and non-financial contributions.
With cross-disciplinary members located around the world, Heliax is a remote-first team that designs, develops, and optimizes self-sovereign and privacy-preserving technologies. The company believes that the best working cultures are characterized by flexibility and autonomy, operating via open allocation, giving team members the choice of what to work on, with whom, and when.
Anoma is proud to be able to count on the support of our backers, who are helping to make the project’s vision of Undefining Money a reality.
